Pascal Jansen has been named the new Head Coach of New York City FC, bringing a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success at both the professional and youth levels.

Before leading the Hungarian national team, Jansen managed Dutch club AZ Alkmaar for four seasons, achieving an impressive 58% win rate with 94 victories. Under his leadership, AZ Alkmaar reached the semifinals of the UEFA Conference League in 2023. Earlier in his career, Jansen guided Jong PSV in the Dutch second division, overseeing 74 matches between 2015 and 2017 and securing a fourth-place finish in his second season.

“I am thrilled to be joining New York City FC,” Jansen said. “This is a special club with an exciting future, and I’m proud to continue my professional journey here in this amazing city and rapidly growing league. I can’t wait for preseason to begin, to meet the staff and players, and to get the season underway."

"I believe in a holistic approach where players are empowered to reach their full potential and become the best version of themselves—both as athletes and as people. Developing players is my passion, and I strive to foster mutual respect while instilling responsibility as part of one of the league’s top teams.

"My coaching philosophy emphasizes an aggressive style of play, applying pressure both in and out of possession. I want our fans to be proud of the team on the field and to enjoy an entertaining and exciting style of football. I’m honored to join the New York City FC family and look forward to achieving great success together.”
